The largest and tastiest green fig?

I nominate Atreano....
I further nominate LSU Gold...

Who will second that?

Sorry, Frank. Maybe my Atreano are too young, but they are neither the largest (breba) nor tastiest. Verte is holding on to the tastiest title in my book. If it were a larger to very large fig, I don't see a reason to grow any other fig. Time may change that. I have other green cultivars that may have Atreano beat for size too.

'Verte' as in 'Green Ischia'?

One of the largest is Emerald Strawberry (143-36).

I was surprised by Deannas flavor when before the rain the other day. But that is my taste.

Ruben, I would agree that Verte (Ischia Green) is very tasty but I would place it in the medium to large range. I am not including brebas, of course.

My first year LSU Gold and Atreano figs are really, really huge.

The birds finally allowed me to taste some that were near maturity and they were good (not as good as Verte).

First 3 pictures are LSU Gold and the last on is Atreano.

nice! Is atreano the big, pink one in the top left corner? ;-)

Yeah, that's the one Ruben, although I would describe it more as flesh colored than pink...oh, and finger-licking good.  ;)

Wait...what constitutes large?  CdD Blanc, for instance gets to about 60g, and I don't imagine much beats that.  Then there's Bourjasotte Blanc...

Really? Im excited to hear about LSU Gold. I just bought it last July.

The ones pictured are just over 60 gm. I don't have CdD Blanc but if it gets up to that size, it definitely in the running for the extra large tastiest white fig award.

Apparently the 'Orphan' fig does very well in China.

I do have one fig known to have been begotten from China.
Quite a unique fig; nice leafs, kind of a horizontal-spreading tree with
medium sized fruit, dark skin & amber colored pulp - almost seedless too.

It is called 'Wuhan' (my source: SSE-LA MC R 06).
I guess Wuhan stands for the province it originally came from...

Edit:
Pic of my Wuhan fruit:

Hi friend, do you have more pictures for "Wuhan" figs ? because I never heard this name in China :)
