Stephen, There are many methods of rooting cuttings, I would try 2 or 3 at the same time to better gaurante success. Because of all the gnat and fungus problems you can have inside, I encourage you to try one that has worked best for me. I rooted several outside this year in the following manner.
Start as soon as the frosts are over:
1) fill a pot 1/2 potting soil, 1/2 sand
2) lay cuttings sideways and cover with 1/2 of dirt
3) keep in sunny spot until it sprouts
4) later move it to a part shady spot and water each day
Here in Central Arkansas (zone 7B) I rooted 15 cuttings this way last spring. 12 took and grew. Today the smallest one is 18in tall. The biggest is almost 3ft with multiple trunks.
