Is that the famous megamagnolia fig? I don't care how it tastes, where can I get a cutting? What a conversation piece!

OH WOW, now that is a really nice fig....., I would love to have a cutting off of that one.

David   Bowling Green

how is the taste john?

makes an impression for sure

Is this the same fig that is sometimes listed as "Bull's Balls" on eBay?

Holy smokes! I feel so . . . inadequate with the 3 little waterlogged figs I picked this morning! Is all the fruit that large? And you grew that in Toronto?

Brown Turkey.

Looks like the Brown Turkey I gave away last year due to huge open eye.

Oh Sarah!! LOL Just kidding. Yes I have seen that one listed several times.

California Brown Turkey.
Unless you have dry climate,it will not make in rain prone areas.

SO, have all the figs been overly large on this tree, or just a few, or one??
And the Bull's Ball fig, is a Brown Turkey-apparently.
Hmmm.....so, are the Quarterpounder and Bull's Balls fig the same???

The bid page indicates it is a form of Brown turkey a"cultivar." It goes on to say that some refer to it as a Quarter pounder due to it's size, so it likely is in fact the Quarter Pounder, but we all know that may not necessarily be the case either.

Well I must admit that after looking up photos of brown turkey , it looks like a match . I don't know then what all the fuss is about brown turkey being do horrible . This fig is not bad tasting at all especially considering it's size and the wet weather recently.
And Oldghost I will keep your propagation method in mind . ( sick puppy )

Thanks ..... John

That's just it.  Even a regular Brown Turkey tastes like it's been through wet weather.  They're watery and don't taste like much of anything except sweetness.  Of course it's not "bad tasting", it's a FIG!  It just happens to be one of the worst tasting figs you can find.
