The Tiniest sucker

My first fig sucker!

I contacted this blog and went after the owner of these figs to get a starter last September... I got small suckers that has grown over the summer. They stay alive for a little while and died. So I put them out there on the weather, cold, rain, snow and all in between. I did not disturb their little pots and look what I found today, the stem cannot be more than 1/8" and the bigger leaf is smaller than a penny...
I called it "Pam" for the lady who gave me- good possibility to be a Desert King or white Adriatic  but, after this survival, I think I will call it warrior!

My addiction started with this blog:

Very nice ! keep us posted on how she does .  :)

I think it will be your strongest fig you have! Congratulations! It cannot be intimidated now!!

Grasa,
Last year I collected 2 small (tiny) suckers and planted them in small containers, one did nothing for a long time (looked like yours does now). The other grew 2 1/2 feet in the same time period and produce figs (that were pinched). They are both still alive and the small one is in a 1 gallon pot, its about 6 inches tall with 3 small leaves. You couldn't guess that they were started at the same time from the same tree and were originally growing about 8 inches from each other. Warrior may still surprise you.
Good luck.

That's so weird how they do that, same here too. I had 2 tiny LSU purples that did nothing but in a matter of a few weeks one popped out 6 leaves and grew almost 18 inches and the other still sitting there so small with one baby leaf thumbing it's nose at me.

I would fertilize them.  A cutting that small can't have a lot of energy.  Houseplant strength miracle grow every other watering.  Good luck with them!

Wow!  What a mighty little girl you have there! Figs seem to be full of surprises.
