The winter of 2013-2014 was so cold....(How cold was it?!?!)

Well guys, I really don't understand what you're speaking about.
We here got no snow -so far ?!?- this winter, and lowest night temp was -12°C ... But I already payed the bill in February 2012, so I'm empty pockets for now ... I'll let you have the bill this year :) .

" How cold was it??" as if it is over...

It is insane. Just dropped from  -15C to -19C in one hour on the way down to -20C.
I hope it is the last hurray of this winter.

We just got 8 inches of snow last night - school closed and I'll be teleworking today.  Tweaked my back root pruning my VdB yesterday and now it is time to shovel snow.  Figs are nowhere close to breaking dormancy.

freezing rain last night. i pulled all my trees in again. but they got lime and osmocote yesterday along with little bit of rain. they will come out tomorrow and it seems there will be another shuffle next week.

Yeah! I was just scraping ice off the windshield so my wife could go to work. Our last frost date is May 10th. It's a long way from over.

The temperatures in Silver Spring, Maryland were very cold in a few nights in January 2014. The polar vortex delivered the coldest day in decades to my area. One night I was driving home, I saw outdoor temperature thermometer on my car dashboard at 2°F degree. The wind temperatures were in the -4°F or -5°F degree. Thanks for sharing.

Best,
Tam

I used to live in Ottawa area but moved to balmy southern Ontario.
Unfortunately it looks like the cold followed me this year.  It was -15C last night.
But not to worry spring is in the air.

30's here today, 40's the three days following, 30's the next five days there after.
With a couple snow days in between.

And Spring arrives on the 20th.
