THE WORD IS OUT

Got a brochure from Hartman's Nursery in Michigan today.  They advertise the Chicago Hardy fig as super hardy.  "it will freeze back to the ground....come back and make fruit".  It is apparently the only fig they sell.  Darn, it should be a real winner here in OK.  I have three of them; two pots and one in the ground under a barrel.  I should get a fig or three this summer.  We'll see.

Ox,

Hardy Chicago has been a very good fig here. It has seen temps of 5-10F over the years with no damage. I attribute a lot of it's hardiness to shutting down in late summer. By fall, it has lost all of it's leaves and no green wood. It should
do good for you.
