Last summer I got a small Wuhan fig tree from a Figs 4 Fun Forum member. It was ground planted in the Fall and covered with 2 flakes of straw for winter protection. This past Saturday, while uncovering my trees (about 30 varieties, all less than a year old and in ground) the Wuhan tree was unharmed and leafing out well. It faired the best of all my figs so far and seems to bode well for this variety. Most of my young trees sustained some cold, and/or rodent damage, so next time, I will heed Herman's advice and keep my young trees potted and winter protected a few years before planting them in ground.
