These giant pictures drive me crazy.

Viewing pictures is one of my favorite parts, but it's no fun being so zoomed in that I can't appreciate the picture as a whole and navigating around a picture like I'm looking at a slide on a microscope.

Is there anything I can do about it? Martin I see your pictures are all the right size when I click on them.

Is there something I can adjust when I view others pictures that are big?

How about when I load my pics? I have a PC and use Picasa for my photos.

i am with you calvin....although lately it has been better. most pics open up more or less in the proper size (marti'n's are always the perfect size image)
i think it has to do with the size of the pic the individuals are postings

I set mine to 640 x 480. That seems to fit nicely.

Check your camera setting first, you can adjust its size it will make you less crazy. :)

you can right click and open pic in new tab, whole pic will be in the new window.

Set the picture size 900 pixels wide max. The final size will be 900 by 600 to 800 approx. Your pic from the camera has too many pixels.

The old way - that did not need repeated explanation, and less time to use - was far more functional.....

Unless it's a picture I really want to see, I often don't bother anymore.

KISS - Keep It Simple Sweetie.

I use a very small program thats free from Microsoft thats for windows based systems called image resizer power toolsif you need the install file post here and i can send it to your email.

It self installs after you click on the installation file , once you have your photo on hardrive you right click your picture and a window opens with a few options, just click small and within few seconds you have new picture right next to your original which is kept.

Before everything changed on forum i used to click large size in same program and it was perfect size right under 1 megabyte - not anymore.
Now i use small size and they come in right around 100 kilobytes and work well for viewing without taking up the whole screen.

I know exactly what Gina means though.
I'll hold mouse over another members posted pictures before clicking on it to see its size,  if its
not around 100 kb i pass on looking at them.

Yes 1 can hold the minus and click ctrl on the keyboard and hit esc and such but .............

I'm with Pete, resize it to 640 x 480.

What was wrong with the old set up for viewing pictures?...one click and you enlarge the picture, and one click you go back to look at the next one...so simple...this new set up is very aggravating...there are some very beautiful pictures there...but when you click on them, it's like sitting in the first row at the movie theater...too overpowering...I skip over most of the pictures now.   :(  :(

i never.. never sit in the front row at the movie theater.. gives me migraine. x) tho, i agree with vince, that new pop up thing is annoying.

Thank you all! I am going to have to work on the resizing thing, and may download that program. But for the meantime right clicking and opening the pic in a new window works great. Problem solved.

I just post the picture right from Photobucket. My pictures are larger than most but look fine to me.

If this size is a problem somebody say so.

Looks perfect to me.

I never minded, but I have a large computer monitor with good resolution.  I *like* seeing those huge images, particularly the prettier ones.

"THISISME"...your picture looks great...the problem I'm having is with the thumbnails...used to be you clicked on the thumbnail, and the picture was enlarged to a nice size, then you click back to the next picture to enlarge and examine it...granted with the new system you get super closeups of each minute detail of the fig tree, but its like walking into IMAX, its just overpowering...now obviously I'm not very tech savvy, and maybe there are a few others of us who are in the same boat, and I just can't see installing programs and resizing picture formats, etc. etc, when we had a system in place that worked just fine(all I wanted to see was a larger view of the same picture, without re-inventing the wheel). ...maybe I'm from the old school, but I was always told: "If it ain't broke, don't fix it".

I mostly use my IPAD and it reduces pics under 1M. But sometimes I use my windows machine and things work fine for me. Some say my pics are too large but, I don't see the problem.
