Thinking ahead to this summer

Enough of this talk about a frozen winter past and lost trees! Consider what awaits us in September: For example, here is a fig salad with fresh basil and other things, including a dash of cinnamon.  :-) Figs and cinnamon....wow!

Wow that looks good! Only 5 months away.

That looks amazing!

I just ate a fresh fig this afternoon from one of my trees. UC143-36 (if memory serves). It was the first of that variety I've tasted. It was surprisingly good, especially for May. :)  I had 2 ripe Vistas earlier in the week, but they were not as finely flavored as this one was.

I too am really looking forward to this summer. Lots of my young trees have many baby fruits forming - many that I've never tasted.

Zone envy.

Zone envy... Yes in some respects, but it's also been very hot, extremely dry, and excessively windy lately, which has not been pleasant ... in early May! Climate change I guess.

I'm sorry, I didn't notice past it being green. I was just surprised to find an other ripe fig, ..and that it tasted so good.
