Nero 600M, Col de Dame Noir (?), and White Greek broke buds and putting out leaves in my garage... urgh.. hope the temp in garage doesn't drop below freezing before the spring. i would hate to have them freeze off and get damaged.
Right there with you, Pete. I see some of mine waking up. I thought about throwing some ice on the pots, just ot keep them cool. It's going to be 75 through Monday. They do that to prevent azaleas from blooming too soon at one televised golf event.
You could bring in an AC unit and cool the garage off LOLOur temp was up to 72 or so today. My inground LSU Purple still tight as a drum! Looks great - I took a few more cuttings too ;)
Well i suppose you all could send me your finest dark types they are guaranteed to go into full dormancy here.I'll even get em going come spring for you and in the summer tell you how they taste allfor a small storage fee. ; )
Martin - Thank you! I'll get back to you on that.
Well JoAnn perhaps Pastry for payment in your case. ROFL

woo.. fig tart. i need to find source for some fresh figs. i'm dying for some fresh figs.
They were sooooooooooooo good!!
Pete, it's suppose to be 72 tomorrow and Sunday. My Mystery figs, Adriatics, Italian Honeys, and Tx EVBs are all leafing out. Some already have 6 inches of new growth. And next week the weather is suppose to be in the 20s! How bout those figs!!!!!
I bet they were good, years back at work an Italian friend's sister roasted Joe's figs with sliced almond in oven then dipped in chocolate. The baggie between him and i was gone in seconds. He gave me a baggie to take home but they just went for a very short ride .
dennis, i saw that. it's crazy. i'm taking my cups out this weekend for watering. they haven't had water for last month or so. i've been misting them with peroxide solution, but i think they can use some fresh air and fresh water.
Martin - lol They were made with BT :( but once I glazed them and they were with pastry cream they were very good, the fig flavor was there but they were lacking in sweetness and were a bit watery. But to novice fig eaters they were "the bomb" Some guests discovered they like figs! Did my job.Dennis - that is just wrong -
It was 62 here today in central illinois soposed to get real cold again by sunday. we had snow on the ground for about a week or so but not even sure it cold enough long enough to kill the bugs. guess we will find out in spring time. figs look like they are still sleeping well but if the temp dont drop soon we may have a problem, but then again i have min all in ground unprotected. zone 6 illinois has not been the past few years what i would call normal for winter.
Jo-Ann, what are the sweets in the first picture? It looks like a chocolate eggplant!! Intriguing... is it stuffed with something? Looks very cool.
My figs in garage are making breba. What is with this weather.
Persian Md, Jo-Ann's first picture looks a lot more like figs dripped in chocolate. And they look yummy! :-) ...and a few of my cold stored trees are budding and leafing out as well here in MD. Going to get close to 65/70 today and tomorrow. Here's a quick picture of the leafing Celeste.
With the next four days forecast to be above freezing I took my figs outside because some are coming out of dormancy. Hopefully they will go back to sleep or at least take a nap. This could also be an episode of fig tree hoarders.
They are chocolate covered figs! What a PITA to make - and I didn't think they were worth the time, though the guests enjoyed them. I LOVE chocolate, but not choc. dipped figs or strawberries.
Very strange weather for sure. A few of my plants have waken up, have small brebas on my Conadria, Italian Blk, LSU Blk, O'Rourke, LSU Red and few others. Navid.
Mine are still napping but it hit a new record high today of 76 and winter returns next week
72 today....66 in the garage. My GH trees are about to leaf out. Seventy-two again tomorrow. Spent the day throwing weed and feed. Made a batch of fig dirt. Transferred 5 fig to self watering pots. Every year, it seems to be getting warmer and warmer during winter.
the last of my Persian White cuttings is putting out leaves. very special thanks goes out to NY's finest. other than that i was sick as a dog for last few days. my son and his science olympiad partner went to their first meet and won all the events (3 of 'em) they entered. rather nice surprise. they were both sick with nasty cold that's going around.
I just checked the 10 day forecast 40-50 by day and 20s-30s by night. whew tree will still sleep ;)
