Good for you, but what does that have to do with what I said?

BTW, in case it was not clear to all, all these pictures are of the same ONE cutting from different angle to show how little cambium is left to grow.

Aaron, please do not PM me again. I've just blocked you from sending me another. (edit: there was only one.)

Since there is no 'ignore' list here, I try not to read your posts to the board, so please honor that by not duplicating any and sending them to me 'to make sure I see it'.

I wouldn't, it was just a part of the procedure I had to go through.
Thank you.

How 'bout them figs?

More of the same B.S. Why the hell did I return? Fun? Not so much. Again, we see one member, the same member, as the center of chaos.

As for the cutting in question, my opinion is you have a better chance of making a fire than a fig. Grab another similar specimen and rub together.

John u crack me up.

It feels like the Forum got FMV !!
Let it not become the latest challenge for the Forum.

A long time ago, there was a kingdom named Ligima. Ligima was very nice and beautiful country. The current king was Jacika and the beautiful queen was Gimata. There was a very large town name Aromina. Aromina was landlocked by a beautiful large stream. Previous king ordered all the sick and bad people which he believed against him to live in this town. Also, he ordered to plant many forbidden fruit trees (bitter orange) in this town. Once day, a guard named Aromi had a dream. In his dream, he saw a beautiful fairy. The fairy said "GO PASS A GATE AND BY A STREAM TO COLLECT YOUR TREASURE." He had the same dream for three consecutive days. On the third day, early in a morning he escaped a gate and entered into Aromina. He quickly went by the stream to look for his treasure, but he did not find any treasure there. He only saw 5 yellow mangoes floating in the stream. He went down the stream and took the 5 yellow mangoes. He hurried back to the gate. When he got near the gate, his friend let him in. Aromi was very afraid and fell down when he saw the other guards. They saw  yellow fruits in his bag. They said "Take Aromi to King Jacika for trial." King Jacika angrily said "How Dare You Entered Into The Forbidden Land and Brought Back With You The Forbidden Fruits. Take Him To A Decontamiation Room and Put Him In Prison." Aromi looked at Queen Gimata and said these were not the forbidden fruits.  Queen Gimata told Aromi to bring the fruits to her. Queen Gimata held the yellow mangoes on her hands and said these fruits smelled really good. She asked Aromi: Where did you get these 5 yellow mangoes? Aromi told Queen Gimata about his dreams and she told him to eat one yellow mango in front of her. Aromi told Queen Gimata that this yellow mango tasted juicy and very sweet. Queen Gimata ate a few pieces of the yellow mango and she told King Jacika that she really liked the fruits. King Jacika looked at Aromi and said "Now I Odered You To Return To The Stream In Aromina To Get Me More Yellow Mangoes." Aromi brought a few people with him to Aromina. They collected 45 more yellow mangoes (these 50 yellow mangoes were very special. They had a power to purify the minds). Aromi presented 45 more mangoes to Queen Gimata. All the people in Ligima were very happy. They had a big celebration. Queen Gimata told Aromi to plant 50 yellow mango seeds in her biggest garden. He took very good care of the trees. He carefully mixed goat milk with water to water the trees. A few years later, 50 yellow mango trees bore very big and tasty fruits. King Jacika invited neighboring kings to Ligima for Yellow Mango Celebration. These yellow mangoes slowly purified the minds of all the people in Ligima and also the people in the neighboring kingdoms. A year later, King Jacika said "LET BRING LOVE TO THE PEOPLE IN AROMINA, LET LIVE IN HARMONY WITH EACH OTHER BECAUSE WE CAME FROM THE SAME SOURCE AND FINALLY, LET US UNITED." He ordered to remove the gate and all the forbidden fruit trees in Aromina and planted many yellow mango trees there. Soon, all the minds of the people in Aromina were purified. They had happy lives with no diseases forever and ever.

Trippy. Is this a metaphor for LSD?

Usually, when I have that much rot in any fig twig; I just discard it into garbage, good luck ...

George, you are rite for tossing it away. I can do that anytime.
But my curiosity tell me "play with it..." :)

Hi! Ako,

Can you please let me know what did you mean by LSD? Thanks.

From wikipedia:
LSD
Lysergic acid diethylamide, abbreviated LSD or LSD-25, also known as lysergide (INN) and colloquially as acid, is a psychedelic drug of the ergoline family, well known for its psychological effects which can include altered thinking processes, closed- and open-eye visuals, synesthesia, an altered sense of time and spiritual experiences, as well as for its key role in 1960s counterculture. It is used mainly as an entheogen, recreational drug, and as an agent in psychedelic therapy. LSD is non-addictive.

I had a cutting that was nearly that bad last year...it had rotted down to a single node.  I did a "Hail Mary" and planted it in the ground outside (buried it under a couple inches of mulch is more like it).  Not only did it sprout and grow a bit, but it survived the harsh NJ winter!
I had another cutting a few months ago that looked as bad as Aaron's in post #1.  I did the same "bury it under the mulch" treatment.  No signs of life above ground yet, but it may be sprouting roots and biding its time underground before sending up a shoot.  (Or maybe it died.)
I'm not a trained horticulturalist, but I do recall reading that real soil has a much better balance of fungi, bacteria and micronutrients than I can provide in a plastic shoebox filled with moist sphagnum moss!! ;-)  I figure if it any chance at all, it would be outside, buried underground and left alone to its own devices.
Cheers,
Jim

Thank you very much.

Tam, aside from my views on Reiki, I admire your positive outlook on things and the way you respond to others always in a friendly manner.  I wish you well in all of your endeavors.

Aaron, good luck with your experiment.  Sometimes these things work out.  When I had a malfunction with one of my heating mats last winter (thermometer had fallen out and was laying on the ground) and I cooked some cuttings at 105F, some died.  One of these was revived after I cut off the lower portion of the cutting and just buried it again even though the cutting looked dried up.  It pushed out new leaves and had strong roots a month later.  Miracles can happen.
