Thoughts about people and fig cuttings

I was having a breakfast in the morning next to my cuttings. We had a nice conversation. Here is what I learned from them.
Do you agree?

Some reasons we loose rooted cuttings:

1) People kindness.

Nature will find its way given a chance. The problem is that our understanding of a “chance” is slightly different and we want to make the things “better”.  This includes watering too much, over fertilizing, disturbing the growing little things, etc.

2) Changing the growing environment too abruptly.

Gradually introducing the cuttings to the outside harsh worlds makes things always better. Gradually introducing the cuttings to the dryer air after a humidity bin will keep your troops alive.

3) Not understanding what the fig needs and likes.

Water needs, soil needs, fertilizer needs sun needs. This is especially hard to do properly for the container culture.
This should be written on your wall: “ a little goes a long way!”
Read this before you do anything!

4) Gnats.

This is often a consequence of the 1) above, mainly the over watering.

5) Mold.

This one is sneaky but still is a consequence of the 1). You don’t see it at the right time but when you do, it is often too late.

I think you pretty well covered it Greenfig.
Especially with #2.  I just lost a little Desert King due to climitizing it to slowly.  Left it under the dome for too long.   Hope it comes back....

I lost 4 to #5 and 2 to #1. I learned to leave them alone if they survive the first week.
