three days out of town..

and one of my cutting is dead. but others are still doing great :)

all my cuttings from UCD are now showing figs. was busy knocking them off. i was waiting for Col de Dame Blache to show the figs and it finally did.

i had a surprise from one of the great forum members. 3 Niagra Black cuttings. they are doing great. been tucked away in a bag for last week or so. leaves are coming out and i need to make cups for them soon.

great to be back at work having my morning tea.. funny how i waited months for the vacation and now it's over, i'm happy to be at work.

I won this auction on Ebay, got a lot of rooted cuttings, stuck them all in a huge container of moist mix under the vineyard canopy, and yesterday... LEAVES!!  LOTS of them!!

Amazing, since we are in a major heat wave!

So I have several Hardy Chicago and Marseilles vs. Black.  I have not watered them once!  The ones that came without roots, I put in baggies with some seriously wringed out sphagnum moss and a dry paper towel all are showing roots.

Couple trips planned.  New grand child in Ohio, and one to Denver.  I guess you have to water and let it go...  Trust.

It's nice that it's really hard to kill a Fig or a Grapevine, and neglect is sometimes best when rooting.

Pete,

I found out the night before my 5 day trip that it was going to be an 8 day trip which turned out to be almost 4 weeks.  I fared ok (but not good) all things considered.

I'm glad you only lost one.
