How long does it take to grow a fully mature and fruit bearing fig tree from a seed?

1 year to never..

Not all seeds will produce a tree that produces fruit. Half will be male, and inedible. The rest might or might not produce fruit, and if they do, it may or may not be worth eating (tasty). Most seedlings should reveal themselves in 5 years or less. If they haven't fruited by then, they probably won't.

Really? That's a bummer can figs self pollinate or is there need for a male tree and a female tree?

In my opinion in 2 or 3 years but not a lot of fruit. You will have a lot of fruit in 5 years
. Growing from seed is cheapest way to have fig tree but you dont know what you get; maybe you will get new interested variety and you will give a name or fig tree without figs. You can try.

Thanks

you're better off buying cuttings.
