time to start some cuttings

Okay got a few started last week to try an experiment. I am using rockwool with a 7 inch dome top that has air vents built into the top. So far had a slight issue with mold but after adjusting the vents and treating the scion with physon 20  I think i have it beat. This tray has about 50 sicilian red cuttings and 28 celeste cuttings almost all poping green buds. I want to pull a stick and check for roots as with rock wool you cannot see the bottom of the scion. I have another tray started using straight perlite with 75 unidentified fig cuttings. Time to set up the green house as the living room is getting crowded already.. I will try and keep weekly photos of progress.

Sorry for the picture quality cant find the good camera

Resist. Resist! Pulling the cutting out will only damage the tender new roots.

Yes jon I know but it is still difficult..We seem to have become a society of instant gratification. I tease my wife that she warms her coffee in the microwave for 30 seconds only to take it out at 25 seconds saying it is hot enough..Immagine heating it up on the stove top HUMMMMM

So northeastnewbie, what were the rooting results using rockwool?
I've heard that rockwool may be the best rooting medium for softwood cuttings.
Thanks.

The rockwool was a failure it would hold to much water on the roots at the base of the cutting causing the cutting to rot. Out of 75 started cuttings I only had one survive to be potted into a 1 gal pot.

Well so much for the rockwool!

Thanks for the update!
