Timing of harvest...this one was timed perfectly.

So as most of you know, I introduced my unknown last year, brought over from relatives in Sicily.  My parents stopped by our cousins place yesterday and they gave them a bushel of figs.  Dad had given them a cutting over 15yrs ago and this tree LOVES the alley it's growing in.  Produces tons of figs each year.  Since my oldest tree is 3 years old, we didn't get our fig fix this year so we overindulged.  I was taking some pics and came across this fig that was super sweet and darker in color.  Just goes to show you get several flavor/color characteristics from the same tree.  Nice deep red and very sweet.

Hey Frank! I can't wait to savor my Sicilian figs from you're cuttings that I started this past Winter. That fig of yours looks fantastic! Nice size, color, etc. really nice bushel of tasty morsels there. Thanks for sharing with us.

Thanks Mark.  I had a few Gino's Black for the first time this year, and if you've ever tasted Gino's, expect Carini to taste close to it, but not quite as sweet as Gino's.

Very nice Frank. Thanks for sharing.

very nice, thanks

I LOVE seeing these pictures Frank. I have 2 trees from the cuttings you gave me and I shared my third with a forum friend. He was pretty excited as well.
How many have you gotten off your 3 year old trees? The 2 I have here are 3 feet tall and they were started late from the box of extras you found in your garage. These grow like crazy!
Thank you again.

That's great Tami!  I had a total of 20 figs from my 3yr old tree.  I don't fertilize it or give any special treatment to it.  It's in the ground so I let nature handle it!

Frank.....     those figs look great...cant wait to try them next year.. I have 4 growing on my trees right now but they are not going to ripen...had some very good growth .....thanks again for sharing!!!!!!
