First adriatic of the season I only wish it was like five times the size flavor is outstanding.

There are more ripening now and will be bigger but they do seem smaller this year for some reason probably because its been in the same pot for 3 seasons.

A tad bigger today

Wow!  I have one Adriatic (from LandscapeWitch) down on the back 40!  No figs this year, but this is inspiring!!  It's a fast grower.  It was planted in ground 2 months ago from a 1 gallon pot and is now 4' tall.  She said it's the best fig she has!  So that convinced me.

It's on a drip system and in a gopher basket.  I buy anything I can to get rid of gophers.  My latest gadget is pretty cool.  You put the poison pellets in the thing.  Stick it into the tunnel, twist the handles, and it dispenses death to gophers.  Since the poison is in the tunnels, it doesn't affect birds (which are pests in their own right) or pets .  It just targets the enemy.
