Tiny figs not getting bigger

I got my very first fig tree this spring right after having my 6th baby in 6 years. I put it in a big pot bc the spot I want to plant in isn't ready, and may not be this year (new house being built next door and too much machinery going around that area that my tree could get damaged). It's a violette de bordeaux. I used miracle grow soil bc it is what I had on hand and wasn't going dirt shopping right after a c-section. Then I topped it with wood chips. When it arrived it had 4 small figs growing on it, about half the size of ping pong balls. That was around June 20, and they haven't gotten any bigger. What do I need to do? When does that variety typically ripen? I'm dying to eat some figs this year. Even just those 4...

I live in SLC in zone 6b.

Be patient. They stay the same size for 2-3 months, and when they begin the ripening cycle, they begin to swell in size.

Being in Salt Lake City, further north, the season begins later for you and ends sooner. When the season begins later, the figs will ripen later.

Here in So Cal we had an warm, early spring, so trees got a good head start this year, on top of having a longer season than our northern friends.

Oh that's good news! I just kept looking at them wondering why they were staying so small for so long and what I was doing wrong! Thanks for the answer!

So one of them ripened but stayed that size. I left it on thinking it might get bigger after turning purple, but it got so soft that I knew I had to pic it. Tiny, but yummy. 3 left and they are also staying small.
