Hi everyone!

I got a lot from Jon today! Thank you!

but If anyone has or got from Jon or has in general Popp's Purple or Black Weeping and want to trade with anything I am getting or currently have, please contact me. These 2 figs have been at the top of my list for the last 3 years and I really want to find them!
And to make it even worse, I noticed while putting my cutting order in ABC order, I left off Popp's Purple by accident, so I did not even order it, the fig I wanted the most! UGG!

This is what I am getting from Jon,

450 C Paradiso 2006
597 C Sicilian Dark (3) 0379 0627
607 B Nero (2) 2118
615 D Sicilian Fico Turbante (2) 0220
623 C Ficazana

709 D Lyndhurst White 2428 1655
969 C Saint Jean 2604
1076 D Black Bethelehem 2
3025 C Saint Jean FN
3026 B Panache FN

I also have Ronde De Bordeaux and Malta Black and some other good ones too. Also ask me if you are looking for something in particular.

Would be so grateful to finally find these! Thank You Much!!!!

Thank you BigBadBill! You got mail :) please let me know what you are looking for so can return the favor. I have been wanting Black Weeping for a long time, I am very excited :)

I still cannot believe I left off my list, the number one cutting I wanted, Popp's Purple. I guess that is what I get staying up to 3 am wanting to get my list in early. I think I deleted it somehow when I went to put it in numerical order. I am kicking myself!

I know, every week since Christmas, there has not been one full week of school because of snow. Last Thursday was a snow day, and they had vaca Friday and Monday, and Tuesday morning they had another 2 hour delay for snow again. Digging out the the greenhouse is no fun either.
Not sure where you are, I am on the Jersey Shore, and for the most part, the snow does not stay too long. Although I still look forward to snow every now and then. It must be the kid in me, But this is definitely the most snow storms I remember seeing in a long time. Temps too. My heater in the greenhouse has been running more than ever at night!

Chris,

From the looks of your order, you better have a big greenhouse. I think you are in too deep, you need to start passing out those cuttings.

LOL! I know, I always start way more than I can handle, But all my extras always go to trades or I give them away, to help add more trees into the fig world!

Same way. Thirty plus and capacity for no more than four. I am making a bunch of friends, however, passing extras out.

Belleclare's "Popp's Purple" was never on their list (as I know?).

Doing some research, I had came to the conclusion (thru Martha Steward docs) that
it was one of the original figs that Pop (father of Chris) had brought from Italy,
and that it is the ONE listed on their most recent (defunct) list as BC#17:
17. ITALIAN PURPLE RED (a) medium, round, dark center (2 crops)

Jon should have it; I bought and shipped it for him back in 2006...

I have been wondering this. I know his son said Pop had 2 trees, one, Italian Purple Red, and one called weeping Italian Everbearing (which I am assuming is the same as Black Weeping)?
Should I be looking for Italian Purple Red in addition to Popp's Purple?

I also have Chris' Purple on my list. I would assume this one has a former name too? Now that one I have not read anything about. I would be interested to know.
Thanks gorgi!

I do not know anything about the history of the Black Weeping fig.
Member fignut may have some more inside on it?

As far as I am concerned;  Pop(p)'s Purple = Italian Purple Red.

>>> I also have Chris' Purple on my list
That is a totally differnt person/fig (not Belleclare)
.
... I once asked a similar/same question ...

Thanks for the info Gorgi!

So there is no Chris' Purple via Belleclare? I thought I read an old post by Jon that was about Chris' Purple SV where he put in the post (not to be confused with Chris' Purple ala Belleclare) leaving me to think Chris' Purple without the SV did exist? But I am in No Way saying one exists. You all know way more than I would ever know.

Let go do a post hunting trip, brb

Ok, here is the old thread, if you scroll down at the bottom of the last picture of this Chris' Purple SV which is NOT a Belleclare tree, he references a Chris' Purple from Belleclare. So the question is, what tree is Jon referring to as Chris' Purple from Belleclare?

http://figs4funforum.websitetoolbox.com/post/chris-purple-sv-3577778?highlight=chris+purple

This is becoming interesting :)

Gorgi, are fignut and hungryjack both people who would not mind a PM to ask a few questions about the history of these varieties, or should I post a new thread? Thanks again for your information!
