I recently got 12 new fig plants in 1 qt pots. They are not branched at all. They have been repotted and are growing nicely with 3-4 inches of new growth. Would it be wise to take a pinch to promote branching out or just let them grow for a while?  Thanks   Chris

Hi Chris.  How tall are they now?  My opinion:  If they are at least 15" tall and putting on vigorous growth, meaning at least an inch per week, I'd go ahead and pinch.  If you think they're still not quite full momentum, wait a bit longer, otherwise, you won't see new activity for several days.  Remember, you can always prune in the winter if they get too tall.

Thanks for the reply. They are all 16-18 in tall. Sounds like I will wait til the dormant season for any pruning or pinching.
