In this fig growing hobby, I have learned a thing or two about true friends or the ones they call themselves, my friends. I have learned that, friendship is based on who you are, not what you have (rare variants) or you do.
Lost several dozens of my trees this Spring, never brought it up on the forum nor I even bothered to ask every friend that I had shared those lost variants with, for replacements. Only asked four friends to purchase rooted plants of those variants that I had lost. Two were Leon and Paul, both were eager to help me for nothing. Two other that I had shared cuttings or plants, were not intrested in helping by saying their plants were small or etc.... Didn't make sense when I had send them large, potted air layers and cuttings last Summer. Those were the ones were the ones being bubdy buddy when they wanted some rare plants that I had. I will not name them, but I tell you this- I have zero respect for those guys.
I have much respect for Leon and Paul for being true friends. And you Rafed. We got into it last Fall over a small misundrestanding, my question to you might not been clear or it might was represented wrongly by me. I appologize. We both end up exchanging some harsh words and ended oir friendship. Went by several months till just days ago where spoke on the phone. We both apologized to each other for our rather childish behavior during last Fall and etc.... Whitin seconds after you found out I had lost so many trees you offered to send me one plant. Two days passes by and I recieve a very large box from you. Was surprised seeing four large plants instead of one. I appericiate your kindness.
These are the variants that have not been introduced in our fig community. You could off made several hundreds of dollars from selling each on eBay. Rafed, you have the biggest heart. I appericiate it your help, even though I never asked. You said; this is what friend do, help each other when in need. Unfurtunatly not everyone is like you Rafed. I know many growers in US and other countries, but, you, Leon and Paul are what I call TRUE FRIENDS.
