Today Snow can be distructive to fig tree!

This Early snow can bring long period of frost, all of a sudden, and damage my trees very bad.
Fig trees have to get used to cold ,slowly by having a little short period of frost each morning, and so they will harden off.
Tonight it could be that all night is frosty due to snow today.
The leaves and stem are green so,I worry.

How so?  The weight of the snow? The shock of the cold?

Herman,

Your little pinky finger knows more about fig tree growing and care than I will ever know..

Am I in trouble?

I have no idea, because this is a first for me to see snow so early.
We will see, possible green tips will be killed, but they are tough and will recover in the Spring.
I have a hint that people that pinched the tips about a month ago, will have no problem, while the ones that did not and also fertilized the tree late will.

If a psychiatrist saw my cellar with all the figs in it and an 8ft tall 80lb banana tree lying on the floor I would be commited.  I still have the larger figs outside with green branches not fully lignified.  Hope I don't lose the new growth.

Last night frost results:Top leaves were burned superficially by frost, nothing serious, hope it will act the same this night.

Yes, it is an unseasonal big storm as mentioned here, news gone far and wide:
