I spent a few days in Toronto visiting family and took advantage with a side visit to figster extarordinaire, John (Johnparav).John is famous for his "figloo" invention and for his Niagara Black fig, among other things, I am sure.http://figs4funforum.websitetoolbox.com/post/The-Figloo-4980845?highlight=figloohttp://figs4funforum.websitetoolbox.com/post/Figloo-update-5040799?highlight=figloohttp://figs4funforum.websitetoolbox.com/post/Put-the-soft-top-on-the-Figloo-5217570?highlight=figlooWhat a nice guy! He showed us (my brother accompanied me), his collection... and man, was I bowled over! He has over 100 specimens in his collection and they all look fresh and alive like out of a picture book. This is Toronto we're talking about, a mere stone's throw from the arctic circle! OK, so I exaggerate a little.Anyway, we sampled a few figs, we talked some more and then he gave me some cuttings from his prized Niagara Black. I promised to share these with two specific members whom I will be IMing as soon as I post this.Hey John, Thanks again. If you are ever in North Florida, please drop by for some sweet alma pie and some fig conversation.
