Tour of the Garden greenhouse

At the suggestion of one of our members here is a little tour of the garden greenhouse of Salisbury where I grow my figs.

This is the path to the Cravo where the figs are growing.

This is from the inside.  Currently both the walls and the roof are completely open to allow air flow and water.   The green in front are tomatoes.

This is why we we survived Martin's Polar vortexes.  There are 8 gas heaters to keep temps above freezing.  The only thing we fear is the gas bill.

Here are the fig cuttings from this spring.  Yes I know they need to be potted up.
That's it.  Now I must go shopping as we are doing an Orchid open house and I need to get ready for it.  Food drinks ect.

Looks amazing, wish I have the same thing.

Looks Great, Please keep on posting photos. Love looking at figs and fig trees.

Wow, I'm jealous!

Nice green house

Nifty set-up!  Wish I had something like that!

Hey it is not mine.  I just grow orchids and now figs for them.  The nice thing is that they really want to carry good plants that are different and interesting not just the plants that every nursery carries.  A lot of folks lost there trees or had them freeze to the ground so our common figs went quick as replacements but there is interest in better tasting and different.  John is an old fashion grower that is really passionate about plants.  I think they did something like 40 types of tomatoes.  We had Carolina Reapers for a short time.

Sharon, that's a really nice greenhouse to work with...wow!  oh , things you could grow there....mmmm-m!

Aaron this post was for you as you asked for pictures.

ok, I need one of those!

Very nice!  Do you work there full time?  Soon they will need you to explain the differences in all the figs they are going to sell!
