Transitioning?

I'm thinking about starting to transition my figs outdoors.  I'm looking for insight.  I have roughly two dozen figs that survived the transition to one gallon pots, and have been sitting in an indoor green house in a sunny window for a few weeks.

The forecast for the next ten days is a night time low of 40+, and a daytime low of 70 and high of 82.  How should I start this transition?  Outside, in their little green house during the day?  Outside in the gh 24 hours a day?  Outside without the green house for a few hours?  In the garage without the green house?

Input is greatly appreciated, seems like this is another great chance to kill figs if not careful...

What planting zone are you in?

I don't have a greenhouse, but before they all went in ground, I just left them in their pots on the drip system in the partial shade of the canopy of the vineyard.  They got used to partial sun that way, and then I just gradually put them in full sun, prior to going in-ground.

I suspect your winters get colder than ours.  We don't do the fig shuffle here.

You just need to get them used to sun and the lack of greenhouse moisture.

Someone with a greenhouse will hopefully chime in.

My 1 gallons have been taking a field trip to the driveway every day that it got over 60 and getting used to the sun. You don't say if the humidity in your greenhouse is high or low. If they are used to a very high humidity you have to get them used to drier air first before going out.

The USDA website says I'm in 9A.  Sunset says 8.  Other websites say everything under the rainbow.  They are used to more moist air.  I think maybe I'll start by opening up the greenhouse.

Good plan. I'm 50 miles south of Houston so 9a as well and I didn't bring in any of my figs in 5 gallon buckets this year. Very soon it will be a greenhouse outdoors here and I am going to start cuttings under the live oak again.
