Trip to Mallorca

Hi folks,

Next month, Irene and I will be in Barcelona, Spain over a weekend. I have Saturday free, so we've arranged to visit Montserrat Pons and his fig orchard on Mallorca for a day trip [it's just a 50 minute flight from BCN].

I'm interested in learning about his processes, etc. Of course anything I learn, photograph or record will be shared with the group.

I'm posting this message now as a solicitation for input. If you have any topics to discuss or questions to ask him, write them out and send them to me, I'll do my best to talk to him about it.

I plan to get one of his books. If I weren't already slogging too much baggage around [all on public transport] I'd offer to get an extra one. However, I'll be glad to share info from it.

Hi Folks,

I made it safely to Spain. Our flight went from Washington-Dulles directly to Madrid. As of now, the volcanic cloud is north of the Pyranees, so it didn't affect our flight. Come Saturday I am not sure how it will be. Therefore, I am keep my fingers crossed we can still fly to Mallorca.

Paul

Good luck, Paul.

Great Paul, Good luck with your flight.
Please say hello to Monserrat, and take lots of photos of his place.

Hi Everyone, our trip to visit Montserrat in Mallorca was supposed to depart Barcelona about 10:30 but the %$&^%$ plane didn't depart until 2:45. So, our trip was less than half as long as planned. The time delay made us miss what was certainly a lunch to remember. [however he did have many nice things for us to eat

It was wonderful visit nonetheless. Montserrat is a wonderful gentleman [Bass, he says hello] and very passionate about his work. I will post more pictures when I can.

PS I brought some of my home cured olives. He had his associates said they were very good! :-)
