Turbo kloner

Has anyone have any expertise or tips before i use my machine for cuttings. Thanks so much. I want to see if i can roots Black Madera preto and some others that i have not been successful in

Just looked it up sounds neat. I wish you lots of success.

Going to be fun. Cant wait to get it. I got the model with the extra dome and electronic fan.

I built my own cloner - had great success with a wide variety of cuttings.

Andrew

Cool. Yea could've but been working alot. Good to hear they work. Do you keep it indoors

AndyInNYC - did you build from plans?

Been there done that. To answer your question, Yes! Just search the forum. There's lots of us old guys that proved great results, like the post I created.

Cool looking product, didn't know these existed. Most reviews state it is for green/softwood cuttings. Are you going to try dormant cuttings?

Richie, be cautious with too much direct water. I have a cloner & used it last fall. Unfortunately, my cuttings were beginning to rot so i pulled them out & quickly switched gears. I went to the next method...baggies. But later I did buy a "bubbler" to try to better regulate the moistire. I may try my cloner again this season but with my bubbler instead. The bubbler releases less DIRECT moisture while still keeping cuttings moist. Just my experience so far. Let me know how you do.

I tied one about 2 years ago. Tried figs, grapes, strawberries, a few other things. The only issue I had (probably operator error) was that the figs and others would almost rot before roots exploded. Not everything but alot. I want to try again with some newer technology. Love hearing others experiences

Here's another one. http://figs4funforum.websitetoolbox.com/post/the-mist-cloner-is-complete-7255233?&trail=50

If your not into building one yourself, check ebay for the "Clone King" version. I bought that one and it works just as well as a home made one. I just didn't feel like driving around searching for parts to put it all together.

I will attest that they work very well. No gnats, or mold and success rate for me is higher than using moss or paper towel.

RIMIKE THANKS FOR YOUR INPUT LINK
JF I WILL BE WATCHING FOR ROOTS,AND ROTTING LOL
SMYFIGS. WILL KEEP YOU UPDATED ON MY PROGRESS GOOD OR BAD. THIS MODEL HAS,A FAN SO AIR GETS AROUND SO MAYBE IT WILL BE LESS TAXING ON THE CUTTING

Turbo kloner is working great . Had some failures
Figured out that cuttings have to be wiped down with pure alcohol i used 195 proof grade A alcohol that i gor from work. Also learned do not adjust ph level only additive i use is RAPID START BY GENERAL HYPONICS & hydrogen peroxide . I did alot of research on which hydroponic solution to use and this stuff produce root nodules in 2 to the days . Rapid start is pricey 15 dollers for a little bottle ..I will try to upload some pictures

How much quantity do you use from each one?

24 clones at a time . They have bigger cloners

Richie, you should dilute that alcohol concentration about 5% by volume, as it's a little too high to be fully effective as a fungicidal/bactericidal/virucidal agent.  I realize that it seems counterintuitive, but in this case, more does not equal better.  You'll have better antimicrobial results with 90-95%.

Sorry Richie, I meant how much quantity of alcohol RAPID START BY GENERAL HYPONICS & hydrogen peroxide in ml.

Put pure alcohol on a rag and wipe down cuttings make sure rag has alot of alcohol on it.
THen add 1 table spoons of hydrogen peroxide per gallon 1 teaspoon of rapid start per two gallons of water. Before filling your cloner with water wipe it down with alcohol then fill it with water add dish soap put cloner together. Run for 5 minutes . empty run again with just water . then empty then refill with hydrogen peroxide and rapid start and set timer buy a short cycle timer.

Ok, thanks Richie. I bought a turbo cloner a few months ago and I haven't use it yet. I buy it without the dome, you think that will be and issue?

I use a Clone King cloner. I dip them in dip and grow. Mine usually show roots in 2 weeks.

dome helps. It stays humid and the fan keeps water cool so water doesn't heat up . dome is extra 40 bucks . ITs made of heavy poly so it not just a plastic lid . I would buy .

Is dip and grow a hormone . SEems like it would just get rinsed right off . THats why i use a solution .

Really that strange . i will try cutting it back to your suggestion . Thanks for your advice

Ye, it is a hormone like clones. I dip for about 10 seconds. I let it dry a little before I pit the cuttings in the cloner. The ones I dip produce roots faster than those I don't dip.
