UC Davis Cuttings

Has anyone received their cuttings or has anyone heard when they will be shipping?

no i have not and have heard no inform on shipping date either

I have, details are in my 2015 Douglassville thread...

They shipped my pomegranate cuttings yesterday.

Congratulations James!

Will you be grafting or rooting the pomegranate cuttings?

Rooting.  I only have one pomegranate tree in Colorado.  The rest are in the ground in Texas.

Huh. I guess they will get to me eventually. I never gave them shipping account info. Do they ask for that at some point?

Good luck with them.
Do pomegranate root readily or do you need special procedure?

Mine shipped today. Aaron, you may get stiffed, if you don't give them an account you may be out of luck. Are you interested in any Panachee, I will probably be giving them away. If so PM me.

They never asked for it. They email you that it will be shipped. Do they ask then? I do have a Panachee thanks anyway.

Aaron, you were supposed to put your account number in the comments field. They may email you though...

My first time...I guess I missed that. I just emailed Mary, she's been very helpful. Thanks for the heads up.

Thanks for the heads-up, I'm waiting on Gold Manukka Grape cuttings.

If I recall correctly, they took about 3 months to finish shipping all orders last year.  Patience is a virtue! :)

The lovely Mary was kind enough to email me last year as my shipping account number was incorrect. Maybe she will help you with that Aaron.
You can email her with that info

Yippee  I got email  they are shipping my order next week.     This is my first time with UCD and I didn't think I would make it.   I am so excited.    Hope everyone hears from them soon. :)

When did you place your order?

Danny, I placed 2 orders, one on 11/5/13 and one in April of last year.

I placed my order the last week of January, received acknowledgment they had received Feb. 2.

I placed orders on 01/19/14 and 10/29/14 and haven't received anything.  Fedex account and CC up to date and active.

Pino,

I root my pomegranate cuttings the same way I root fig cuttings.  Usually, I have both in the same bins.  The big difference in rooting the two is the pomegranates are slower to grow roots and the roots are thinner, but then the limbs are thinner as well.  I generally have better success with pomegranates than figs.

Thanks for that James!
Cold hardy pomegranates are on my to get list!

Orders for dormant cuttings or budwood must be received by November 1st, and are shipped in March-April.

Approximately how much does shipping cost?

Around $5?

Around $15?

Around $40?

Surely lots of people know, but I've never seen this info posted.  If you've ordered from them before, how much did you pay for shipping?

I always specified ground (about 12 bucks), but last two years they sent it 2nd day ($35 ish). Without specification, 2nd day has been their default. Perhaps now is there only option.
