UC Davis Ordering

The old ordering form has disappeared from the site. Site was revised 9/20/12. Orders no longer go to Bernie (Previous orders to Bernie for this year ???????) May explain why some have received no conformation.New deadline Nov. 1st.

See http://www.ars.usda.gov/Services/Services.htm?modecode=53-06-20-00

It seems that they might have finally gone to online ordering only, which was an option before.

Wow!

I got my order in early, and it didn't go to Bernie, but I still got a confirmation.  That new system is pretty confusing.  Hopefully somebody can give us an idea how to use that thing.  I'm going to go and try, but not submit since I've already done so.

OK!  Here is what you do!  Enter Ficus Carica in the keyword search.  The list comes up.  Then you click on the thing, and add to cart.  Not as confusing as I thought!  I actually like it better!

I may not have noticed that there is no order form.  I simply re-named last year's order form, and revised it with new requests, saved to my computer and attached it to an email.

Thanks for alerting us to the fact the new deadline is Nov. 1st.  Many here wait till December to get their orders in.

They want an explanation of your research plans.  Better get creative!

Good luck!

Tried an order and went smoothly.

Can you explain how it looks complicated to me.

Eden, it's not hard.  Go to this link.  The whole list of available cuttings will show.  Scroll down, click on the interesting ones, and add the ones you want to your cart.

I sent an email to the order desk asking about previous orders on the old form. Here is their response:

We will be filling the orders previously placed on the old order form system.  There is a backlog due to the transition from the old form to using the online system.  If you have not received confirmation of your order, please be patient and you should receive confirmation within the next few weeks.

UC Davis is performing a huge service here, and we owe them big time.

I'm grateful to have them as a resource, and I actually love the online order format, now that I figured it out.  Got next year's order ready to go!

They are into research, and they want to know what you will do to assist in research of the cuttings you receive.  I, and this is the truth, am researching climate performance with both wine grapes and figs.  The pomegranates are just for fun, so I figure they could throw a couple of those in.  Researching taste and growth.

Thank you Suzi. I managed to send my order twice the first time without and second time with a FedEx account.
