I'm thinking I had the foresight to not select overnight shipping but don't recall for sure what I did.

I have not revived mine neither despite submitting it early. you're not alone; & that sucks too :(

I have not recieved mine either so either they are sending out another group of boxes or we are doomed swept aside cast away like an old shoe.

I contacted them today and they are shipping mine along with other packages today. So hopefully you will get'em this week.

You might have something there.  The first round of shipping that was done a few weeks ago was on a Wednesday for a Thursday delivery.

Bass, I just got mine today.  2 varieties noted as "tree to small" and no cuttings sent, and 3-4 varieties were only 1 or 2 twigs. about 1/3 of the varieties were shorter twigs than usual, though nicely fat. Probably had some of the same issues I had with less growth in our weird, cool summer. I know it didn't seem like a cool summer when we were there.

I didn't get any notice of shipment.

I wouldn't mind rooting green cuttings. I'll be ordering green cuttings of other fruit trees, but it doesn't seem like they're shipping green fig cuttings.

One guess what arrived today.  (See pic).

I got everything I ordered (8 varieties).  All cuttings are at least 10" long, and most are nicely plump.

* 4 varieties had 3 cuttings (Monstruese, Calvert, Native De Argentile, St Jean).
* 1 variety had 2 (Col De Dame).
* 3 varieties had 1 (Ischia Black, Barnisotte, Pastiliere).

Most of them look like 2nd-3rd year growth or older and a little worn out.  The Calvert sticks look amazing, first year growth.

The St. Jean looks really rough (old wood) and arrived with a ton of mold already, and it was actively sporing.  One stick has a couple of nodes that look dead (strange red color) in odd places.  Two sticks are so fluffy at the terminal bud they look like cotton swabs =)


Don't take my words as a complaint!  I'm very happy right now!!!

Jason you were right on...my fedex package arrived today as well! :)  I too had a furry science experiment on two of ths scions!

I received all of my requests!  All of them usually in bundles of 2-3 and pretty long.  I had no expectation of any of them coming through so I had ordered a bunch from Jon as well so now I am following in all of you guys' footsteps and starting my little fig farm!

No, I mean which ones were moldy?  I figured it might be helpful to see what cuttings others dealt with mold on, see if it was true for the some variety with multiple people.

ah...sorry, the ones that were moldy were: the white texas everbearing.  it seems that the tips were soft and a little mushy which may be the problem??

Yes, probably dead material.  I would prune off the tips.  I'm going to need to do that on my St Jean tips as well, I'll probably cut it back 2-3 nodes, just to be safe (cutting it before 10% bleach bath)

I just got mine today too, but some I only had a few with 3 cuttings, panachee is huge!  Voilette de B. only got 1 and is small.  We will see how they do.

I received my very first shipment of cuttings from UCD today as well. At least one ctg of each variety I requested. Very nice! I'm very grateful for this fantasitc source of high quality material. I'm looking forward to working with all of it.

I was a little concerned when I first saw the FedEx box because it looked like it had rec'd some pretty rough treatment. But fortunately, all material inside was in pristine condition.

No mold issue of any sort either as a couple of you seemed to have experienced. Sorry to hear about that. Cold have been a variation in packing technique or could have just been the variety maybe - ?

Boy, I'd hate to think that was the case Jason.

I just took another look at my box and have similar numbers on mine. Doesn't quite add up to a date though. On one side are the numbers 20110183. I assume the 2011 is the year but the 0183 doesn't make much sense by itself. 

The numbers 183 are also on one end of my FedEx box along with my last name. This all leads me to think that those numbers just may be a designation assinged to a particular order/request. May just be coincidence that yours looks like an actual date Jason. 

It is the order number and not a shipping date. 

The email confirmation - mine came in August of 2010-
 Your order number is 20110030 and will be part of our dormant winter cuttings that will be shipping out sometime in March 2011.
