UC Davis pix No. 30

The goal of this trip was to photograph as many of the cultivars as possible. Some were earlier season figs, and no longer available, and some later season figs, not yet ripe. However, the vast majority were available. Unless otherwise noted, these were of acceptable flavor, worth growing, but not necessarily exceptional.

Bournabat

Palmata Hybrid

Jon, you may know how it tastes but I like the skin colour of Bournabat.

Definitely a good looking fig.

Jon, I've been reading up on Bournabat. I requested it from UC Davis, thinking it was a common fig that didn't need the wasp. I have about 6 Bournabat cuttings. They were the first cuttings to send out roots, and they are my fastest growing cuttings. UCR 291 is also sending out lots of roots very fast. I don't have the wasp, so, what would be your advice on Bournabat?

I do not have a definitive answer on whether it needs caprification or not. Hasn't fruited enough here to determine.

Okay Jon. Its such a nice looking fig, I hope it fruits one day.
