UC Davis UCR 153-17

Good day, here is a picture of UCR 153-17.  It was excellent tasting.   It had a tough skin but that does not matter to me.  I added this one to my list request for cuttings.

Idea as to why the center is so dark? How's they eye?

First bit of report on my cuttings of this variety, started in late Feb.

It likes vegetal growth much more than it likes to root.  Roots are very fine and net-like compared to videos posted by tmc and others, with many secondaries per main.  Only one of three sticks actually rooted as opposed to sending out buds, and it was in the middle of the stick, with vegetal growth towards the ends.  Put it in a quart pot, lengthwise and a tupperware pot covering most of the top.  Going to just stick the other two in pots with soil and throw 'em to the wolves.

Everything I read suggests a poor grower and a reluctant fruiter.  We shall see.

Dennis, UCR 153-17, is it a common fig?  The fruit look good. (Sorry Martin)
