Dennis thanks for all the pictures of the different varieties . Of this group which one would you rate the best in taste? Do they all have closed eyes?
They all look delicious!

In My climate it was identical to Dotato, Kadota, Binello,White Russian,Adriana,Etc,and will not ripe properly.
I am sure it is wonderfully tasting in your climate,so we all can see what climate differences between not so far places can be.
Dennis is in NC,while I am NJ,15 miles from Phila.
By The way;Florea is sugary sweet in South Korea, but it was mediocre sweet here,so I am not growing it,anymore.
Yet if you read the recent post about Florea In south Korea you will be impressed.

This is so we can see what the difference climate makes.

Dennis,

I got WTEB cuttings from Jon in 2011. They have grown well but they are not producing edible figs for me. Well I had a single fruit that ripened last fall indoors that was edible. All from this year (about 25 so far) just fall off when ripe and they are hard and dry looking. On the outside they look similar to the pictures you posted.

I am not sure if they need caprification or is it the climate? I am making an air layer of it for you to try out. My climate is hot is the summer(multiple 100F days), but can get into the teens in the winter.

I hope yours turn out just as you tried them in CA.

It was discussed in the following thread;

Nana 7b:It did the same for me,just like it did for you, frustrating, and so did all the other cultivars I mentioned in post #3
I have no doubt it is some bad genes, that make it bad in some climates, while in other climates it is delicious, and excellent.

:-)

Thank you for post the pictures Dennis. I was wonder are white texas everbearing and texas everbearing the same? Because I have a fig tree that was labeled texas everbearing, but it still small and I was wondering if its going to be similar to this.

Hank,
They are absolutely different figs, even by color.

Thanks Boris. If someone has pictures of both for comparison, could you please post.

Hank, I don't have any pic yet but I will this summer.

TxEVB means Brown Turkey depending on what part of the US you're from.  However, I don't think they are the same.  I've found that the Souteastern Brown Turkey figs are just that....BROWN.  Some strains of the SE Brown Turkey are excellent!  I have a few.  And some strains of Brown Turkey are flat out bland tasting.  All of mine are medium in size.  Again, Texas Everbearing is NOT the same tree as Brown Turkey.  I don't care what some folks say, they are not the same!   I have my trees gowing side by side and all are over 5 years old.

All of my trees are in pots.  The base of my trees are about the same size as my wrist, 9in in diameter.  TXEVB fig tree puts out a lot of large figs.  Some people want this because they want a lot of figs.  My tree produced alot of figs last year, but the figs on my tree were flat out tasteless and the late rains ruin all the fruit on my tree but not on my BTs!  However, White Tx Evb at UCD is very rich and super excellent.  They are medium in size.  I have a couple of W TX EB trees now due to generous forum friends.  Some say the figs on their tree just drop and never ripens.  They could have a capri fig. I will know more about these this year.  I know there are different strains of W TX EVB.  This is why I want several from different sources.  I do know the figs at UCD have been caprified.  The UCD Brown Turkey is an excellent tasting fig.  And the California Brown Turkey fig taste better than that!  Jon won't admit this but we did a taste test on the BT and CBT at UCD.  We were blown away how rich and excellent both taste!  But Again, these were caprified which could explain why they taste so amazing on the west coast.  I don't have a Callie BT but some say its the same as the Improved Brown Turkey.  I do have a large Improved Brown Turkey thanks to a generous forum member.  It will fruit this year.  I will be able to compare it to my other figs. I do know that my Improved Brown Turkey fig does have red tips and my other BT do not.  I wish I had a Callie Brown Turkey fig to compare.  I've requested cuttings from UCD last year and I'm sure they will come in.

So, welcome to the mysterous live of the FIG!

thanks for posting, cant wait to try in 2 years.

thanks for the info dennis. I have brown turkeys and texas everbearings, and it can be confusing trying to keep track of them. I think I'll just have to wait and see how these fig turn out.

White Texas Everbearing has turned out, along with LSU Gold, to be a very successful orchard fig in Hawaii.

Last year, I made the mistake of sitting a quart size White Tx Everbearing on top of a pot of compost.  After about 3 months, I could not move the quart size pot!  What happened?  That sucker rooted through the bottom of the pot straight down into the compost!  I had to cut the pot away and left the tree there!

LOL, exact same thing happened to my Michelia Alba. Except I just took to the roots and removed it.

Dennis.
You must have an impressive wrists if they are 9 inches. I almost fell of the chair reading this. 9 inches in diameter in 5 years would be very impressive.... I can even get my plants grown pencil think in two years... LOL..

Fun apart, I knew you meant circumference and not diameter.. Good day Dennis...

I got my White Tx EB from Jon and 2 years ago.  It did good the first year and produced a couple of figs that were good.  It didn't produce anything last summer, much like my RdB, which also did well the first year.  Hopping for good things this year.  My favorite from last year though was Hollier.
