UCD - How late is too late?

  • jtp

Does anyone have any idea when UCD/USDA stops sending out orders? I placed mine in October, but have not heard anything since that day.

I have emailed them with no response. And I am starting to become concerned as others (some who ordered after the deadline) have received their cuttings. Maybe I got lost in the shuffle or something. It was my first-ever order, so I have no clue as to the process or my potential to receive anything at this point.

How does UCD/USDA operate with this process? I know it is run by volunteers mostly, so I was in no rush. It just feels like my window of opportunity for this year is closing. Can anyone please ease my mind?

Last yr, I've seen members getting their UCD cuttings as late as end of April. Didn't really keep track after that.

What email did you use?

If not this one try it:     mary.parker@ars.usda.gov

I sent to the general address previously. I will send her an email. Thanks.

Man, I'm glad this thread was posted. I'm wondering the same thing. I'll send an email to Mary as well, my others got no response.

I've not yet received my "order" either (though I quote that because I think of it more like a request than an order).  I guess I'll email Mary too.  I did receive a confirmation from them back when I placed my request (just prior to the deadline).  I'm posting here just in case you're trying to track any semblance of how many folks submitted requests/orders that haven't yet been received.

I just received my order last Thursday, so they appear to be running late this season.

I feel much better. Mary was very nice and got back to me within hours of my email. She confirmed that they are still working on orders (Her terminology as well, not just mine). I let her know how much we all appreciate what they do for us.

They send them out in order of how good looking you are.

Best for last. I understand. :)
