UCD Ischia Black airlayers

I removed these airlayers from a UCD source Ischia Black.  Hopefully they will transition into the new pots.  I still have the cutting from the branch that broke off in the spring.

Congratulations. Looks like you have the real thing, and that in spite of the fmv, they are very healthy.

I'm just curious as to why you use a saw and not some sort of shear when you separate the air layer from the mother. Have you had splitting or damage from shears? Just wondering. PS, thanks for making all the videos.

BTW your videos are what I watched before joining the forum. Keep up the good work on these educational videos!

That saw is very fine toothed and is used for joinery.  Since I had it anyway, I thought it would be better because pruning shears tend to do a little crushing also.  Fig wood is pretty soft so it really cuts easily too.
