Ucdavis cuttings sent out yet?

Has anyone received their ucdavis cuttings yet?

When are those usually sent out?

Joe

According to the website, usually on Feb 1st.

EDIT:  Sorry, I'm thinking about when Jon starts shipping.  I see in looking at the order form they ship Jan/Feb.  I haven't gotten mine and my FedEx account isn't showing activity.

As mentioned on the other forum, I've received cuttings as late as March/April.
Sue

They generally start about the 3rd week of February, and on into March.

So then I have a follow up question.

I will be away on a vacation the last week of February.  If the cuttings are delivered while I am away will they be damaged if left outside for a few days?  That time of year the nighttime lows will be below freezing.

Joe

Have your neighbors keep their eyes out for it and hold it for you till you get back.

Joe ,
i was looking at the posts from last season earliest i saw mention of recieveing scion from UcDavis was March 5th i recieved mine March 12

Yes, time to make a friend and have them pick up your mail and packages. If you are having them shipped FedEx or UPS, you can probably call them and have them hold packages till you return (assuming they are in a warehouse above freezing).

I'm sure you're all are eagerly waiting for the Uc Davis order. I spoke yesterday with one of the UCDavis officials and said that they just filled in all the orders this week. They will attempt to start shiping next week or the week after.

That sounds like there right on the same time frame as last season asi mentioned in post  # 7.
Bass i imagine you will be doing a little updating to your site as well in Mid march?
No no , no more figs Bass  ; )
But your plants always grow nice for me.

They said that some package will be sent in middle of March.
I'm going away for two weeks, when I get back, I'll be working on my greenhouse. I'll be grafting about 35 Jujubes, 20 Persimmons, 20 pears, and starting about 100 new varieties of figs.
so many figs so little time...
