I just say I'm researching how certain varieties do in my climate zone, and I name the zone.  You can order for 2015 anytime prior to Nov 1, I think, but I usually get mine in earlier to be on the safe side.

Charles, UC Davis does not care what you share with the Fig4Fun forum.  They want you to report your research to them!  They are a research facility, and we are lucky to be able to order from them, and get free cuttings.  I would not mention Figs4Fun on my order form.  This is serious.  They are serious.  They spend a lot of time putting your order together.  Show respect.
