Hi John,

There is a unknown that Jazzbass has that he calls Bari,  I don't think It's widely distributed but just might want to consider that. Not that it would be the 1st time we had figs labeled the same, but maybe the full street name or such.  The fig looks generally similar as well.

Hi John.
I have that fig from Jazzbass, I'll get to try it in a day or two.
It was great meeting your family, hope you guys enjoyed Lake george.

Hey Phil, Not sure if they are the same , found this one growing unprotected in the Bronx last year and took a few cuttings ....the person that I got it from didn't know much about it except that that it was from Bari.

Hi Vito, yes it was very nice meeting you, enjoyed looking at your fig trees .....we had a good time in lake George...I. Got talked into going parasailing with my son....
I don't know a whole lot about this fig but I can tell you that it was very good , it was like eating a strawberry jam...

John, I will be visiting Bari and other parts of southern Italy in a few weeks but I imagine there are a lot of fig varieties growing around Bari!  I am growing the Bari from Ricci (see pics) and it looks somewhat similar to the fig you found in the Bronx except Bari (for me) does not have as long a neck as yours.  As an aside, my Mt. Etna figs have necks similar to the ones you show and this suggests that Bari (from Ricci) is not a Mt. Etna.  I'm not saying yours is a Mt. Etna either of course.  Can you show photos of the leaves?

Hi Steve here are some pictures of the leaves...

The leaves are rather similar between these two varieties so it wouldn't surprise me at all if they were related.  If I get any insights on the figs in Bari worth sharing I'll let you know.

Steve I can get some better pictures tomorrow.....I see what you mean about the neck being a little longer on my fig

Ok Thanks
