Started as a cutting in winter of 2012/13. It set 20 some figs this year, here is the first one. The dormant terminal bud on this branch was somewhat damaged by some sort of tiny bug inside the bud case, so this branch produced one deformed leaf and the result was essentially same as being pinched. It set this one fig about 2 weeks ahead of all the others.
I am very happy with the flavor of this first taste. It doesn't look all that great and I don't have good descriptors yet, but the flavor was rich, the skin was tender, and the overall texture was pleasing. The interior of the fig looks nothing like the pictures of the figs from the mother tree, which makes me excited for what the future will hold. Based off of my expectations of what a great fig should be, I'll give it an 8-8.5 It was much better than my RdB so I have to add the up to 0.5 variable.
I have a bunch of pictures of the leaves, I'm hoping maybe Andreas may have some ideas as to the ID. The pictures of the waspless fruits from the mother had much more red in the interior, less white pith, and not much for a noticeable void. Hopefully I can add some pictures like them to this thread in the future.

Here are a couple pictures of the first Hardy Chicago of the year also. The first picture was taken 2 nights ago. This is the second year of getting fruit from this tree. They are about 20% bigger than last year. I'm not happy I had to pick this one a couple days early. It was fine this morning and sometime today the paper wasps found it. It was good, but 2 more days and it would have developed the richness and thicker texture. So it was a 7 for me today. I now remember the wasps liked HC last year also and I had to apply the Apple Maggot Baggies for protection.
