Unknown but tasty :)

I generous forum member shared this one with me a couple years ago. He thought it was Green Ischia but I'm certain it isn't. I've since acquired GI from 2 other sources and it does not look similar.

This one is very syrupy with honey dripping from the eye when picked. Just the perfect amount of sweet/figgy/richness. Sorry can't describe it better than that lol.  Despite its unappetizing exterior... the interior speaks for itself! Its my current favourite. The small tree does have a bad dose of FMV and took quite awhile to start growing normally but still put out a few nice figs.

Anyone have a similar looking fig??? I'm curious what it might be. The leaves have since pretty much fallen off so I don't have a pic but they are the common 3-5 lobed leaves. The previous fig I picked had a shade more red on the interior than this one that shows more of an amber colour.

Nice looking photos,  The Smith fig looks similar to the photo.

Here is another... showing a bit more red.

Tyler

Wow tyler, that thing looks delicious, and London is only an hour away lol.

lol yes it is Paul... though I won't have any more of this one unfortunately... ate the last one :)

Looks like a very nice fig.  Does the honey dripping out indicate it may e a honey fig?
It will be interesting to hear how it grows for you in ground if you decide to try.

Looks a lot like a LSU Gold with the sugar spots, could be LSU Hollier.  Both are excellent figs.

Looks great
