Unknown cutting

I got a couple of cuttings from a co-worker of mine and I was very surprised by the one that is taking off. The leaves are nothing like what I expected. The only thing I know about the parent tree is that the figs are large and "yellow". I know that isn't much to go on, but any clue what this may be?

Thanks in advance

It would be interesting to see a photo of the mother tree, leaves and figs. The cutting looks nice and healthy.

LSU Gold might be an idea since you are in LA, but could just be an unknown or many other options.  I can't even think of how my LSU gold leaves look, and I was just down the hill looking at it.  It's loaded with figs though!

Good luck with the ID!

The leaves on a young cutting sometimes are different than what are expressed once the tree has some age on it.  So I doubt you'll be able to determine much unless you have photos of the mother tree leaves (and fruit too if you want to increase your odds of accuracy).
