Unknown Fig...any guesses?

I was wonder what I can tell from this "unknown" unripe fig and leaves.  Any educated guesses? Mother tree is a street tree in Los Angeles and has a good number of "brebas" on it that look like they will ripen on the early side.  I don't think it is a caprifig or seedling, but the interior looks kind of like some caprifigs I have seen.  I'll check this tree in a month or 2 and will open up another fig then; I suspect it will tell me a lot more, especially if a bunch of fig wasps fly out!

I'm sure someone has done this already...but it would be cool (and informative) to see weekly pictures tracking the development of a couple varieties of edible figs from figlet to "ripe".

Definitely Ficus carica. Hard to say more without ripe fruit.

bent,
Thank you very much for showing the above pictures .
I see a number of short style gall flowers on your fig cutaway. A sizable layer of male flowers can also be seen under the fig eye.
This could indicate that this fruit is a non-edible fig, probably a Profichi, maturing through its correct timing for the area where it was located . (March to June) --just like any breba crop
In doubt, you may,  using a good lens, inspect those gall flowers and try to see through their translucid shell the contours of a living wasp larvae inside... if you manage to see it, then you are  in the presence of a caprifig

This paper is quite good reading on the subject and  will help you to understand what Aim saying
