Unknown Turkish Black

This is another beautiful Unknown variety (Siyah Kis Incir) which we got from Ercan , who got the largest collection of Turkish common figs. It came as a gift with my other trees that I ordred from him, but it turned out well and produced couple of main crops mid October in my greenhouse. I must say it was one of the most complex flavour I have ever tasted. Last picture is the mother tree in Turkey.

Thanks for sharing Vinny.Yes this is really a good variety and happy to see its ripening in UK .This is a tree in my backyard and its fruits are my favorite .

Siyah kis is also known as "Winter Black" right.

Yes siyah kis means winter black .But it is not late variety as the name suggest.It is harvested on August till September

Looks beautiful. That fruit looks like it could be caprified, is it?

We dont have any wasp in UK. But yes it could be double in size if pollinated like every other fig.
