Forum members, I wrote about a local find in Charlotte. Usually the local finds here turn out to be Eastern BT or some variant of Celeste. But this is one is different.
I shared some cuttings with 15 or so forum members. If you have this cultivar growing, protect them. Good quality.
I am impressed with the Williams dark. 1st year fruit - super nice. It's definitely a keeper with great qualities.
Cold hardy since the mother tree is in zone 7a unprotected for a very long time.
Super tight eye. Does not split on rain since I pulled the fruits right after a heavy rain in Charlotte.
The fig is shaped like a chestnut and looks very pretty with shades of dark brown, olive and purple.
Oh, look at that inside. Just deelish....
