unusual large fruits,from 15 inches tall tree,pixes

This is Black Jack,5 yrs old ,15 inches high.
It has a dozen fruits,on it.
I got it as a trade cutting from Jon ,at Figs4fun,5yrs ago,and it was doing nothing till now.
Not growing not fruitting, not getting them ripe, eather.
Every year it will put out a couple of fruits and they stay green till frost.
2 yrs ago,i discarded it in the dumpster.
Two days later one poster on fig Forum, posted that his is having good fruits.
So I took it out of dumpster, and planted it back in a pot.
It had dead leaves, but it came back.
This year I had it in my fig Cellar.
Planted it in ground this Spring,in my trial row,to leave it there to fend for itself.
The first ripe fruit is so big, that it looks bigger than the Atreano had, that weighed 120 grams.
It could be it is empty inside, but on the outside is the biggest I ever seen.
Well over a quarter pound.
Here is the pix.

Herman
Probably it remembers your kindness of saving it and now rewarding you for it.
I hope the growth pattern for Black Jack shown at your place is not common occurrence in the NE. I rooted a cutting this winter and it is 1 foot+ now. Now I may be ready for a potentially slow growth. I will start observing and comparing its growth with others started last winter.

Herman,

Mine is still fairly small, but the fruits are close in size to Brown Turkey, and have flavor and juiciness closer to Black Mission. This season they were better than ever. Let them get pretty wrinkled - don't pick too early.

Herman,

That tree looks like it is growing good now?

Great looking Fig

Nice pic

Yes Cecil:All of a sudden,it started growing up about a month ago.
Hi Jon:Yes the taste was mentioned ,as being close to the Black Mission,by the author of the post 2 yrs ago.
That is why,I went back and search in my Dumpster container, and replanted it.
I was Lucky it was not taken away by the Removal truck.
The only problem it could Happen,to this huge fig,is:If I leave it on ,long enough to fully ripe,it could sour.It has Happened before with Paradiso(Gene Strain),and that is because our climate, and not because the fig cultivar.
But I will leave the first one anyway,to see what Happens.
Happy Gardening to all.

I almost threw out my BJ early this year. It was 3 yrs old & I thought why do I need a variant that may not be sooooo good. Well, my main crop is starting to ripe. It has an impressive  huge fruit. Nice colour.  My wife took pictures. Hope to try it by next week.
