Up potting Ischia Black and Black Madeira fig cuttings

I still have a lot of cuttings in cups but they seem to like the airy mix.  They can dry out quickly but the stress seems to have encouraged thicker lignified roots and they recover quickly from drying out.

I basically use  a 5-1-1 mix that is often talked about for container citrus.  I sift bags of pine bark nuggets through 1/2in screen mesh and mix the sifted material with retail bags of organic garden soil and perlite.  This is the second season that I have used it and will not go back to perlite and vermiculite and having to transfer from that mix to soil which always resulted in transplant shock and broken roots.
