Looks like a happy fig plant.  What is it sitting in?  You may have trouble getting it out when it's time to move up because of the ridged sides.  And I'm sure you know but just in case there are good drainage holes in the bottom, right?

I agree with Bob. I just up potted 20 plants yesterday to 5 gallon pots. I only had problems with two cuttings and they were in ridged containers similar to the one in the picture. In the end, I had to cut the container. They survived but I did lose some roots. Never again for me.

their baby roots tend to stick to plastic, so,it is best to have a surface you can easily un-stick them from, smoother sided bottles are best, or the wave of the plastic should be up and down so the plant can slide out with dirt as well.  I like the ones someone posted with the inner cup is split in half and inside another, so when repoting, just open the split cup. I have to try that.  your plant looks very cute. wishing it stays that way for you.

Swizzle...they look nice and healthy...good luck.

When it is time to repot, flood this container with warm water.  That helps unstick the roots.  Then cut the container without cutting any roots.  Or you can switch now by putting the whole thing in a bigger container full of water and let the soil drift away from the roots and repot them in a smooth sided container.

The pot is a recycled 4 gallon water bottle. I intend to keep it in this for about a month before I move this fig into a greenhouse. I have the use of a 16 by 30 foot greenhouse. I figured I coulde use this container until then. If the plant has roots that long after a month I welcome the trouble it will cause me by planting in this container. I would like to plant it directly in the greenhouse but it is still too cold at night here in Maine so I will wait until at least the end of April and possibly the middle of May.

meanswhile you can put a plastic down where you will be planting it... seems to help the soil warm up a bit. Also, you can put soil in shallow containers or inside  a garbage bag to warm up, so, when planting it in the ground, you have warmer soil to put around the roots.
