Updates and pics with questions

I'm so excited!  Went to water some fig cuttings today and noticed roots in one of the cuttings (all cuttings are Celeste), yeah(1st picture).  On 7/2 I started some cuttings with either ones I received from Tom in Utah or cuttings I took of my friend on the Potomac.

I left 2 in water-It has done nothing and looks like fungus on the cuttings when I change the water, it is inside my house.

I stuck one in a water bottle with 1/3 mg and 2/3 perlite, mist every other day.  Left outside under the overhang. Not seeing roots yet.

The four I got from Tom, I did as he suggested.  Washed them and put them in newspaper in a ziploc bag (slight deviation, could not find moss).  One sprouted roots and I potted it up with 1/2 mg and perlite (2nd picture).  It seems to be doing fine.  I left it under an overhang and water it every other day and let it air out for 1/2 day, otherwise it is in a bag.

Two other cuttings from my friend- I dipped one in hormone and stuck it in 1/2 mg & perlite and the other just stuck it in 1/2 mg & perlite.  The one with hormone added rooted.  The other I believe it rooted but can't see the roots.  I will used this method again, but with clear pots, I want to see the roots.

The last two pictures are my BT and Chicago Hardy that I brought this year.  Any advice on pruning the BT, and I would like to keep it as a bush?

And lastly I want to thank the people on this forum for posting how they start their cuttings, etc.  I took some ideas from all and tried to best fit my situation.

PS. Got my drip irrigation in! Now waiting on trip to EL.

Glad to see at least some of your cuttings are doing well.  I just set up three KB cuttings - one in 50% perlite/50% potting mix in a pot which was then placed in a plastic tub with a loose-fitting lid and a little water in bottom to keep the humidity up.  The tub is next to a window in my house so it will stay around 79 degrees with little or no direct sunlight.   The other cuttings went into bags with either spanghum peat moss or paper towels.  I have heard mixed reports on rooting hormone for figs so I didn't use that - may want to re-think this.  I really want this to work!  So your cuttings have been outdoors the whole time, right?  The humidity is higher out there so maybe this would make the process simpler in some ways but given the near 100 degree temps I decided on the in-door option.  This is my first attempt at rooting cuttings in the mid-summer.  Let me know what you think.

Rewton,

Yes, my cuttings, other than the ones in water are all outside.  I think with the additional heat and humidity, it works.  I wanted to try several methods on these, since it is my first time.  These methods might change a bit for the winter/spring cuttings I plan to do.  BTW, all are under an overhang and no direct sunlight other than the one in the clear bottle.
