Upside down cutting fix with root riot cubes

I accidentally put a cutting upside down in a root riot cube.   It rooted in the cube but at the top of the cutting since it was upside down.  A leaf popped up in the middle of the cutting, but pointed downward which is when I realized that it was stuck in the cube upside down.   So instead of removing the cube from the wrong end since it already started rooting, I put another cube on top.  So you end up with cubes at both ends, and then you plant it on its side.

looks like a startup :)

I have a Celeste in a cup that I started upside down on purpose.  I know, not smart but hey it was in a plastic container with damp paper towels and had good roots on top and no roots on bottom so I decided to just see what happens.  Well the thing is continuing to grow roots and is putting out leaves.  The leaves started out pointing down but then the pull of the sun takes over and they are now turning up.  I plan to just see what happens with it when it is time to pot it will be upside down there too.   Sometimes it is just fun to mess with the natural order of things.  I suspect though that it will turn out over time to just become normal tree.
that is if I don't manage to kill it some where along the way.

Figfinatic...my only concern is that putting the rooted end into a root riot cube might tear off the existing roots...some of the openings on those cubes are pretty small...but if it works, then you have invented a new way to save a cutting...nice work, and good luck with that cutting.

In front of grocery store other day they had a rack with pots hanging from it that i saw, as i walked past them i saw Tomato plants growing out the bottom pointing straight down about a foot long.

Foreverfigs: there weren't any roots on the top (which is actually the bottom) so easy just to stick another cube on top and turn it around right side up. Now roots on both ends should start.

Charititup: I'd like to see you go thru with that upside down tree. I've started a few upside down in the past and turned them over but would like to see how yours turns out kept upside down.

Figfinatic,

I'll let you know about the upside down tree.  Now it is in a cup in a humidity bin and the last time I checked it seemed to be doing good.
