USDA / UC Davis pix No. 9
The goal of this trip was to photograph as many of the cultivars as possible. Some were earlier season figs, and no longer available, and some later season figs, not yet ripe. However, the vast majority were available. Unless otherwise noted, these were of acceptable flavor, worth growing, but not necessarily exceptional.
Calimyrna
This one was fun because I had never seen a fresh Calimyrna fig. I was used to seeing them dried. Beautiful fig, but for me, the flavor was not that impressive as a fresh fig. So, it may be that other varieties developed by Condit which are not that great fresh, might also be good as dried figs.

This was a milder fig, but very tasty.
